Wokking Weekends: Lumpia

I decided to take a day off from fitness mania, considering I had numerous exams to study for. As a trade-off for not exercising, I made a promise to myself that I was going to make the Saturday as productive as possible.

After watching ItsJudyTime's mother make lumpia on YouTube: Watch Here I decided that I was going to take a stab at making these wonderful rolls. At first glance, I just thought it was going to be too similar to Chinese egg rolls, but afterwards I decided that it was a bit different and I like it! :)

Here is the aftermath of my early morning cooking (excuse the lack of presentation & poor quality):

It was my first attempt at making foods like these, so it didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it to be. Oh well, as long as it tastes yummy, I honestly don't really care too much about the appearance. The cherry on top of this whole experience was making my own Ngoc Mam Cham! Yum, I love that dipping sauce so so so much.

I had some time on my hands so I started experimented with some makeup and had a ton of fun. I've been really into lip products because it can be subtle and at the same time create a significant change on your overall facial appearance. I have Maybelline Wet Shine in Berry Wet on my lips and I love it!

Selcas of little ol' me!

To end this spontaneous post, here's a pic of me with a baby bottle of Diet Pepsi! It's so adorable!

I've been pretty consistent with making blogposts, eh? :) Thanks for reading again!

Fitness Mania: Day 4

It totally slipped my mind to post day 4 of my fitness journey!

Yesterday it started off pretty well and then it ended with a heavy downpour of rain. Guess who forgot to bring an umbrella and came home drenched? That's me! Nonetheless, I'm glad I was able to start off my day by exercising!

I actually took a two day break from exercise because of my busy schedule and knew I was going to get my butt kicked for skipping. I got on the elliptical and immediately I started feeling tired. I kept telling myself to take it easy and go at a good pace. I had a feeling deep in gut that I wasn't going to meet my personal goal on the elliptical. I felt terrible knowing that I should have not skipped two days. As I eased up, I completed my goal and was able to feel a great "I did it!" feeling!

Time: 30 minutes
Distance Ran: 1.70 Miles
Calories Burned: 222

Before, After, Outfit and Results

This new time change is really bugging me because I don't mind the nice morning light, but the dark night at 5pm, now that's just not right. Now my brain keeps telling me that it's late when it's really quite early. Bleck.

Fitness Mania: Days 1-3

Welcome to the start of my journey to a better and healthier lifestyle! It's going to be a long and bumpy road, but I'm looking at the big picture all the way!

I decided from the beginning that I would attempt 30 minutes of cardio everyday. I will add some strength training later when I feel stronger and able to commit to an hour full of exercise.

Day 1:

Time: 30 minutes
Distance Ran: 1.55 Miles
Calories Burned: 206

Day 1 was an extremely tough day because it was only my second time on the elliptical and first intense workout since I don't know how long ago. I was not really feeling up to it, I was feeling tired, but somehow I was able to keep motivate myself with positive words and complete my personal goal of running at least a mile and burn at least 100 calories. I was so tired and burnt out afterwards, but I felt extremely proud that completed my goal and kept my promise to myself. I was also very careful with my calorie intake and made sure that I didn't go over a certain amount of calories.

Day 2:

Distance Ran: 1.60 Miles
Calories Burned: 211

I felt amazing today. It was just the second day of my fitness mania and after Day 1's impressive results on the elliptical, I felt hungry for more! As always, I didn't pace myself in the beginning and started to get tired towards middle of the workout (it didn't help that the elliptical kept increasing the level, making it harder!). I felt like giving up, but I told myself that this I've given up on a lot of things in my life, and giving up on myself was not an option. I powered through the rest of my workout and felt amaaazing! Sure, I was sweating like crazy, feeling extremely tired, but just the thought of reaching my goal made me forget about all those other factors. I was able to ween myself off the unhealthy foods I would normally eat and reached for more fruits instead.

Days 1-2 Results

Day 3:

Time: 30 minutes
Distance Ran: 1.78 Miles
Calories Burned: 231

I got home early from school and wasted no time in getting on the elliptical. Just something about working out in the morning makes it that more inviting. I changed into my workout clothes, did my hair, and got going on the elliptical. In the first 15 minutes, I couldn't stop looking at how much I had run, how much time was left and of course the calories I was burning. I admit that I was getting a bit frustrated that I wasn't seeing the results, but then I started to relax. By the end of the workout, I was so proud of the results I saw! If you look from Day 1 - 3, you can see my progressive results and I'm slowly but surely getting stronger and more motivated each workout.

Day 3: Before, After, Outfit and Results

Well there you have it, the first three days of my fitness mania. There will be more to come :)
